About the Provider

Dr. Sarah Sandberg is a cardiac electrophysiologist. She grew up in Columbia, SC and attended the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina. She went on to earn her medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. She was accepted into the prestigious internal medicine program at Duke University, which is consistently ranked in the top 10 in the country. While there she realized her dream was to become a cardiologist and she went on to pursue cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Sandberg received training in the latest techniques while at WashU and went on to practice in St. Louis for four years before moving to Birmingham to join CVA.

Electrophysiology is an exciting and dynamic field that is always growing. Dr. Sandberg enjoys all aspects of electrophysiology but is especially passionate about improving her patients’ lives through both medical treatments and lifestyle improvements. Outside of her practice she enjoys running, traveling, and experiencing life with her husband, son, and two dogs.
