Douglas J. Minnich, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Thoracic Surgeon in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed Thoracic Surgery training at Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School in 2007. After 9 years in academic practice, he recently joined our team at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. He has focused on the development of minimally invasive technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic disease. He performed the first electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy (ENB) in the state of Alabama and has since developed one of the largest surgeon experiences with this technology in the world. He has participated in multiple clinical trials in the development of both ENB and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) in the treatment of early-stage lung cancer.
